CUSTOM DESIGNED FONTS & MORE

Ratnakar has designed and created a large family of custom made Indian Language fonts for properly typesetting his books and for the help of several organizations and authors engaged in the promotion of Indian Culture. Some of these users include

1. Sarasvati Hindi font :

His main two Devanagari fonts are “Sarasvati” and “Ratnakar” ttf fonts. The fonts are so beautiful and ornate that news media, publishers, authors and students love them. The keyboard layout is exactly same as QWERTY English keyboard and thus it is quick and natural to learn and adopt these fonts. The fonts are superior to Unicode Mangal font as each character and symbol is carefully designed so that even in very small size they are easily legible. The letters are neither too dark nor too faint. They have all punctuation, typographic as well as Indian musical symbols and accent marks built in the font.

2 Ratnakar Sanskrit Devanagari font :

Most precious thing for a Sanskrit scholars is that one can type most complicated Sanskrit compound letters such as dbra, dgra, ndvi, nkhya, nkshya, ngkta, ngu, etc. properly, without using of halant matra and without being a novice. Mangal Unicode font users have become so much used to typing and reading crudely typed Sanskrit texts (द्ब्र, ट्वि ङ्ख्य, etc.) that many of them don’t even know the difference, what is proper and what is improper. Take a look at the following table showing compound characters that appear in the Gita. See if you can type these characters and symbols properly with any Unicode or ttf font. One of the happy user of these fonts Mr. Sunny Bass writes, Hello Ratnakar ji, your Ratnakar font is really nice, clear and complete, probably the nicest one I have ever seen.

3 Canada English Transliteration font :

Ability to transliterate Sanskrit text in Raman English Script is an essential power to phonetically express Devanagari sounds accurately that can be achieved through the Canada Transliteration font created by Prof. Ratnakar Narale. Initially developed for writing his Sanskrit books appropriately, it became popular among English speaking Sanskrit scholars. Being no substitute for such a complete transliteration font based on Qwerty keyboard layout, it is a wonderful add on tool for Vedic students.

4 Vanakam Tamil Font :

Based on Qwerty style keyboard layout for ease of use, the Vanakkam Tamil ttf font is developed with complete sequence of Tamil letters and coupled with six Sanskrit based Tamil Special Characters for modern typing. The vowel and consonants are placed according to Devanagari order. See the above Tamil Alphabet Chart, the character groups are color coded according to the phonetics. For English and or Sanskrit knowing people, each letter is shown with its English as well as Devanagari Equivalent. The above colorful chart is the back cover of the Tamil learning book. The chart is color coded according to phonetics.

6. Namaste Urdu Nastaliq and Urdu Naskh fonts :

Based on Qwerty style keyboard mapping for easy typing, the Namaste Nastaliq (Persian style) and Namaste Naskh (Arabic Style) ttf fonts are designed with complete vowel signs. See the above two Urdu Alphabet Charts, the character groups are color coded according to the nukhtas and letter shapes. For English knowing people, each letter is shown with its English Equivalent. The first two charts shown above form the back outside and inside covers of the Urdu learning book. The third chart is designed for the Hindi or rather Devanagari knowing people. You will not find such wonderful and valuable work anywhere else, thanks to Namaste Urdu Fonts.
